A Good Ending To The Day

Lately Jaxon has started responding back to us when we tell him goodnight and that we love him. For the last while we would tell him "goodnight, I love you, see you in the morning", but lately he returns it back with "lub you" "in morning". I LOVE hearing these precious words coming from my sons mouth. It makes for a good ending to the day!

A New Baby...

On Tuesday my sister had her baby, finally. He was due on the 15th, but apparently military hospitals are not fans of inductions (her hubby is in the army) so she carried him over 6 days. They named him Johnathan Mark Proctor, he was 7 lbs. 10.5 ozs., and was 20.5" long. We are super excited he is here safe and sound and we can't wait to meet him when they move back in June. Jaxon has already started calling him 'Baby Johnny' and wants to know when he can play trucks with him.

A Great Read

So my darling hubby turned me on to Dr. Laura just after we were married. I thought 'how crazy is he for listening to this lady give family and marital advice on her radio talk show.' If any of you know my hubby, I am sure you might think the same thing. Apparently he was raised on Dr. Laura and his sisters listen to her as well. So I gave her a shot and started listening. She is such an amazing woman and we have learned lots from her. She has wrote many books, and I have read one other one (The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands). She just recently published this book In Praise of Stay-At-Home-Moms. It sounded great and appealed to me, since I am a SAHM, so I bought it and read it in just a few days. It was FABULOUS!!! It reaffirmed why I am home and the benefits it gives my family. I highly recommend it to any mom out there, SAHM or not. This will definitely be a book I refer back to on those days that I wonder what I am doing and why I made the choice to stay home. If any of you do decide to read it, I would love to know what you think!

Easter 2009

Coloring Easter eggs, topless!
He loved spooning the color on the eggs.

This is his 'cheese' face. Again topless.

The finished product. It only took like 10 minutes, was it that fast for any one else?

His Easter basket.

Jaxon showing me his tootsie rolls from his Easter basket.

Hunting for eggs. He wasn't too sure about what he was supposed to be doing, but caught on pretty quick.

Hunting for eggs. He was staring at the pink one behind the bunny for a good 5 minutes before he realized what it was. Too funny!

Still hunting for that pink egg.
Later that afternoon we went to my parent's house and had a yummy ham dinner, came home, laid around some more and watched movies. This Easter was a lot more fun because Jaxon is getting old enough to really get the whole idea of holidays. Hope everyone else had a great Easter holiday too!

My Little Scrounge

So you would never know it from the picture, but Harley got 'fixed' on Monday. I worried about him all day and through the night, but come Tuesday he was a new dog. He is healing well, obviously. This afternoon Jaxon and I ate lunch, I took Jaxon upstairs to put him down for his nap, and this is what I saw when I came back to the kitchen. My little scrounge dog rummaging through the high chair for crumbs, as if we don't feed him! What you don't see in this picture is his overflowing bowl of dog food! What a crazy dog!

Bean Museum

Jaxon and I went to the Bean Museum today and had a lot of fun! We had a great time seeing all the animals and displays. We also went to the Dinosaur Museum they have there. It is small with not a whole lot to see, but still interesting. I just wondered if anyone else has any other good places to take kids. I would love any suggestions of low cost or free places.
