My New Obsession

Ok, so I have this new obsession with shopping with coupons and trying to get the best deal out there when it comes to my grocery shopping. I have always been a concious shopper and have price matched with my grocery ads, but lately I have been crazy about it. I think it all started when my mom told me about this lady that she works with. She went grocery shopping, bought like 15-20 items and only wound up paying $1.26. That's right...$1.26. I thought this was impossible right? WRONG!! She has found ways to save every last peeny with coupons, shopping the ads, using online resources and knowing which stores do double or triple coupons. She is one smart lady if you ask me! So, ever since my mom told me this, I have been trying to figure out ways that I can do this to save our family even more money on grocerys. Tomorrow is my first shopping trip since becoming this way, and I am excited to see the difference.

Every Day Phrases

I saw this on another blog and thought it was kind of funny. She listed the top ten things she says to her kids everyday. It got me thinking if I say the same things over and over to Jaxon, and I am pretty sure that I do. So, I thought it would be kind of interesting to list mine, then see if anyone else has some of the same ones!
1. Please don't bug the dog.
2. Yes Jaxon, the lights are hot. (don't ask where that came from!)
3. You want to watch George?
4. Lets go play with your toys.
5. You really need a haircut.
6. I love you.
7. Be careful.
8. Please get out of the kitchen drawers.
9. Let's read some books.
10. Daddy is at work.

A Little Update...

So in case you were all wondering, no, we did not fall off the face of the earth. (C'mon, you know you were wondering...) We are still around, just life has been kind of, I guess you could say normal and quiet for once. It is definitely a welcome way of life too! Justin got started with Schwans and is really enjoying it. We found out that all of his routes are local in the Provo/Orem area, so that is a great thing. I was really worried that he was going to get routes with a ton of overnighters and be gone a lot. We are just grateful that this job came along when it did and that it is working out so well. As for Jaxon and I we are just doing our normal thing of watching Dora and Diego (his new favorite cartoons) and keeping up with the house and storage units. Thank goodness life has slowed down a bit and we can get back on top of things and in somewhat of a normal routine of life.

Playing In The Snow

Laying in the sled waiting for someone to pull him.
Using his sand shovel to dig in the snow.

Digging the snow and putting it in to the dump truck.

New Years 2008

We had a fun New Years Eve this year. The last 3 years Justin & I haven't done much to ring in the new year, so we decided we needed to do something this year. We had some friends over, munched on some snacks and played Battle of the Sexes. This was a fun game, but Justin is still reminding me that the guys won...whatever.

We are hoping that 2009 is better than 2008. Which I guess it is what you make it, but so far I think we are off to a good start. Justin started with Schwans last week and is liking it so far. Next week is going to be crazy since he will be in Salt Lake for the whole week training, so that will be a bummer, but life goes on. We have some good goals set for ourselves this year and are maybe thinking of adding to our family later in the year.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that 2009 is prosperous for us all!

Christmas 2008

We had such a great Christmas this year! Jaxon was especially fun to watch with all the presents and knowing that Santa was going to come to his house! I tell ya, Christmas is definitely more fun having a son of my own. To watch that innocence and excitement is indescribeable! Our morning started off with me waking Justin & Jaxon up at 6:00 a.m. to see what Santa had brought us. I am still like a little kid and can not sleep in for anything! This is Jaxon watching Curious George on tv and playing with his racetrack.
Still fascinated by George and the racetrack.

Opening presents by the tree.

I think he was more excited about the milk bones that Santa brought Harley than his own stuff!

This is the Thomas the Train Engine track that Santa brought. He loved it and we have had to replace the battery like 3 times now.

Then after we opened our gifts, my parents came over for a yummy breakfast. Then we spent the rest of the day laying around in our jammies watching movies and playing with our new toys.
